Sustainable Sediment solutions for the Danube - Black Sea system
SUNDANSE
SUNDANSE is a 48 months long Horizon Europe project that brings together 20 innovation stakeholders and educational entities from 10 different European countries – Romania, France, Belgium, Israel, Serbia, Estonia, Ukraine, Austria, Bulgaria and Ireland. Throughout the duration of the project, SUNDANSE will launch two Open Calls and distribute financial support to at least five Associated Regions (up to 100 000€ each). SUNDANSE is part of the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean & Waters" and the Danube & Black Sea Lighthouse.
Objectives
SUNDANSE is aiming to create a Sediment Management Handbook for the Danube River basin, including intervention strategies. It will also develop and validate a Sediment Prediction Tool using measurement and monitoring to better predict sediment transport and impacts. It will propose Sediment Management Solutions which will be tested and validated in three locations along the Danube and propose these solutions for other regions, incl. an Action Plan and Roadmap for their use.
Role of justASK!
justASK! is again joining forces with the European Shippers' Council (ESC) to represent the viewpoint of shippers in using one of Europe's longest and busiest inland waterway. Every year, more than 40 million tonnes of goods are transported along the Danube, including grain, fuel, construction materials, and containers. Inland waterway transport is a green lifeline for Europe, and rivers like the Danube are its backbone. But to keep them navigable and healthy, we need to understand and manage the natural systems that shape them—including sediments. justASK! and ESC are disseminating this message and keep stakeholders up-to-date on sediment management developments.

justASK! has been involved in European projects since more than 20 years. This involvement starts from co-writing proposals and managing a proposal consortium to contract negotiations with the European Commission, and - most importantly - comprises the management of the project itself and the technical contributions to the project contents.
justASK! can therefore assist you in finding a suitable call for proposals within the 'djungle' of European subsidies, set up and draft a proposal, find suitable consortium members, and submit your proposal electronically.
